Thanks for checking into my blog.  If you asked me five years ago, I’m sure I would have sworn that “blog” is a word that I would NEVER use, let alone ever DO!  So with a great deal of surprise, and admittedly some fear, here goes.

Why a blog?

Let’s start with the easy answer first — because I can do a better job of communicating with you.  Plus, some of you have asked for it. (Talk about being careful what you ask for!)

I have spent most of the past eight years focused on long-term strategic issues relating to power supply, transmission, and growing our business.  This work has been invigorating and important for our future, but it has taken me on the road a lot, and it’s often left me exhausted.  During the same period, 60% of you are new to Wolverine, and we don’t know each other very well.  Besides, some of you work shifts, and many of you work in the field, so I don’t get the chance to see you much.

What are the goals for the blog?

  1. I hope the blog helps me better communicate with you, and it allows you to get to know me.
  2. The blog format allows you to engage with each other and respond to me. The idea is to be informal, so I can push a quick message to you, and you can respond to it.
  3. You will be able to read it from your mobile device.

I hope you find some of my posts interesting, informative, and maybe fun.  Since one goal of this blog is to invite two-way communication, please comment and send me an idea for a future post.
